Take the ASI

Immediate appointments available. Call now (402) 434-2730 to schedule appointment with one of our licensed counselors, psychologists, APRNs or physicians.

The self-administered Addiction Severity Index (ASI) interview is a consistent, standardized, research-tested tool that engages clients and facilitates more self-disclosure and accurate data collection. This evidence based assessment is available in both English and Spanish and is designed specifically for use with adults (ages 18+). The ASI allows clinicians the opportunity to expedite treatment planning while at the same time assisting individuals in making the right treatment decisions moving forward.

In order for First Step to connect you with the right services, we need you to take an online interview. This interview can be done in the convenience of your own home or any other location that has internet access or you are always welcome to come to our office and utilize our computer lab for assessment services. The online interview will take about 30-45 minutes of your time.

Before you meet with a counselor in person we will gather your insurance/payment information and get you scheduled to be seen usually within 1-3 days. Our staff will then email you a link that will take you to a login screen and ask you for three confidential pieces of information that will give you secure access to the interview. For security purposes, this link will remain active for a period of 7 days from the invite being sent so please make it a priority to log in and complete the interview in a timely fashion. If you do not complete the evaluation before 7 days and the link has already expired; you will need to contact First Step to resend the link. A new link with a new expiration time will then be emailed to you.

You can start the interview by calling our office now at (402) 434-2730.

Once you have completed the online interview you will meet face to face with one of our licensed professionals who will gather additional information and develop an individualized treatment plan with recommendations to move forward.

To protect your privacy, please keep the following things in mind while completing this interview:

1. It is advised that you don’t take this in a public place like a library unless you are comfortable

2. Make sure the computer you use has up-to-date virus protection

3. If you have a wireless internet connection, make sure that it is properly secured

4. Use headphones if in an area where others are present to maintain confidentiality and reduce external influences

If you have any questions or concerns please contact our office at (402) 434-2730. We will be happy to assist you in any way we can, and please remember you are more than welcome to come to our facility and utilize our computer lab for assessment purposes.

Believe you can make change happen. We will help you to make that change a reality.
